5/4/2016 Course Update

More adventure waiting for you! – I just got back from Tyler State Park (the trail looks beautiful!) and we had to make one course tweak to this year’s race due to the biggest bridge on the trail system being taken out by a big storm and won’t be fixed in time for the race (going to take some engineering work). That section of trail has been closed. We will now have one section of course that will have 2-way runner traffic. And depending on the direction you are running, it will feel like a completely different experience, which should be cool. Old Road aid station has been moved a 1/4 mile. The split to Blackjack has been increased by .56 miles. Due to the course change, the overall main loop mileage has been increased .8 miles. The cut-off times will be increased by 30 minutes as well to account for the distance increase. The 7 km race distance has not changed but Old Road aid station is .24 miles farther. —- More adventure awaits.

Here is the updated Course Map and Updated Aid Station splits.

Course is subject to change and if so, maps/information will be updated and runners notified immediately.

AID STATIONS: Again, all aid stations will be rockin’ the cup-free status! Please bring your own water bottle or hydration system.

See Cup-Free Racing Support for a list of hydrous options to support this transition.

The 50 km runners will have eight (8) fully supported aid stations.

The 20 mile runners will have five (5) fully supported aid stations.

The 10 mile runners will have two (2) fully supported aid stations.

The 7 km runners will have one (1) fully supported aid station.

The fully supported aid-stations will contain water, electrolyte drink, and a buffet table of other sugary/salty ultra goodies.

CUT-OFF TIMES: 10 hour time limit! (Based on the 50km start time.) The entire course will be officially closed at 5:00pm. (Update: 5:30pm – due to course tweak highlighted above.)

ALL runners must start their last loop by 1:45pm. (Update: 2:15pm – due to course tweak highlighted above.)

All runners must arrive at Blackjack aid station on their last loop by 4:00pm. (Update: 4:30pm – due to course tweak highlighted above.)

If you cannot make these cut-off times, you will be kindly escorted from the race and listed as a DQFBIP (Didn’t Quite Finish But Inspired Plenty)…but you will always still be a member of this tribe!
