Rough Creek

ROUGH CREEK – Saturday September 20 2014 – Glen Rose, Texas

Rough Creek Trail Run occurs on the ruggedly beautiful grounds and private property of Rough Creek Lodge & Resort just outside the town of Glen Rose, Texas.

This course provides a unique mix of terrain, from well groomed, toenail safe trails on varied terrain, to the steep, rugged, and technical miles along a featured section of the course we call the Rusty Crown.

A memory making adventure with a community of great people.

Lace them up and get ready for a day of awesomeness!

It could be hot (avg 89F high / 65F low). There is not a lot of shade. Be prepared! Check out the Course Info and Maps page for hot weather running insight and tips.

What the Tribe is Saying about Rough Creek…

You and yours do an awesome job, and I truly hope the adventures will keep growing! You put your heart and soul in it, and it shows. Thanks for the memories!

Loved the race! Will be back next year better trained and knowing what I am getting into.

I had a smile on my face the whole time and one hell of a challenge to face and conquer. The biggest thing for me though was that as I was coming into the finish line, many of the 40 milers and marathoners coming back out took the time to give me a little encouragement, that's so cool. I'm proud to be part of the community.

This was my first trail run and first official race over 13 miles. I experienced some of my worst moments on your course. But more importantly, I celebrated some of my best. It took me 12 1/2 hours to finish, and your volunteers cheered me on the whole time. That meant more to me than finally finishing. Thank you for your hard work, it showed.

What a great show you delivered...from the great volunteers at the aid stations to providing a course that made so many 'memories' for so many runners to the post race grub. I thank you. (my quads do not!)

Thanks for a very tough, but fun-filled day. The volunteers were great, the food was great, and the Rusty Crown is forever etched in my aching body.

Thank you for a truly unique experience! This was by far the most fun I had in a race (Rusty Crown included) It tested my limits, my ability to hold back curse words and offered up some amazing views of the Hill Country! Your team of volunteers was absolutely fantastic!

You really do have a special race at Rough Creek. Having been to one of your previous races, I wasn't surprised this time around with the AWESOME volunteers and the overall experience. I'm happy to be a part of the tribe and glad my boys got to participate this time around. Baron also decided the cowbell was his just after you handed it to me. Can't wait for the next EBA adventure.

More than I expected in so many ways. Hardest damn thing I've ever done. I'll be back for more!

A hearty "thank you" for another thrilling EBA adventure! Rough Creek was by far the most challenging trail event I've ever done. On each climb I embraced the challenge (as you often say), and kept stating to myself, "finish what you start". I also said, "Gosh, Dave had to mark this whole course himself?!!!?" We can tell you love what you do. Thank you! I appreciate the time and effort you put into providing so many of us a rockin' good time, and the opportunity to challenge ourselves beyond what we already know.

Today was my second trail run at Rough Creek! My first go was Cedar Ridge! Thanks to the crazy Rusty crown, I don't think I could climb into my own car after that! Thank you for having the shorter distances for us newbies so that we could be a part of an awesome community!!! Volunteers were AWESOME!!!!
